The Mad Knitting Dash...

Oh lawd, Christmas is almost here and I am fervently working on gifts for people... I am normally a 1-project-at-a-time kinda girl but I knew they just would not get done in time that way. Soooo, I have about 5 going at the moment and oddly, I am pretty optimistic about them all being completed in time.

For the MIL-type person:

This is a Clapotis,  except I am knitting it with a significantly lighter yarn than the pattern calls for (and it is actually much further along than this, but apparently Lexington is having an identiy crisis and thinks its Seattle and thus I have not been able to get outside and take pictures).... it is being knit with Handmaiden Lace Silk. I was looking for a VERY specific colorway for her, and this was the only one I could find... It is only coincidence that it is like drugs for your fingers. No really, this is *almost* as good as sex. Almost.

For my Bubba (that would be the grandmother person to you normal people):

She spends a lot of time outdoors, even in the winter. Even though she is 80. Even though people would do the stuff for her *sigh*. So I figured that I would make her something incredibly warm and buttery soft....

You can't tell from this photo (unless you are petting your screen... even still, I'm not sure how well that would work out) but this yarn is so far beyond soft, there are no real words. Alpaca is like wool on "performance enhancing drugs" (though it will never admit to it) It is warmer, softer and more effective at wicking moisture away. Alpaca is a wonder fiber and Misti Alpaca does it right.

There are a couple of others but I am not prepared to show them just yet, as the intended recipients just might see this sometime before their gifts are bestowed upon them.... =D

See you soon!
